Proper Waste Segregation
Properly segregating and disposing of your waste not only reduces the amount of toxins that enter the atmosphere, you may even save someone's life. Not all wastes are equal and some are so dangerous that they fall into a category all their own: hazardous waste. We can segregate our waste by;
• Sepating the plastics waste from the biodegradable waste.Plastic wastes be should totally separated from natural wastes. Plastic waste do not decay like biodegradable waste. Instead they take many years to decay.
• Recycling is important , but separating hazardous and non-hazardous waste is vital. Hazardous wastes requires special handling and hazardous waste is non-hazardous containers can cause serious problems.
• Waste Sorting is the process by which waste are separated into different elements.Waste sorting can occur manually.
Segregrating waste helps reduce use of raw materials, keeps recyclable material out of landfills and keeps incompatible garbage separate from each other.
