What is Bullying?
Bullying is recognized as a widespread and usually neglected problem in school and home around the globe.For an act to be considered bullying must meet certain criteria.This includes hostiles ,intent, imbalance of power,repetition, distress,and provocation.Bullying can have a wide spectrum of effects on a student including anger, depression,stress,and suicide. Additionally, the bully can develop different social disorders or have a higher chance of engaging in criminal activity.
TYPES OF BULLYING
Did you know that there are many types of bullying? Bullying can be experienced by children and adults alike,some are obvious to spot while others can be more subtle.Below are some of the examples of types of bullying:
-Physical bullying
This includes hitting, kicking, tripping,pinching, and pushing or damaging property. Physical bullying causes both short term and long term damage.
-Verbal bullying
Verbal bullying includes nme calling, insults, teasing, intimidation and many more. Verbal bullying can start off harmless,it can escalate to levels which start affecting the individual target.
-Social bullying
What is social bullying? Social bullying, sometimes referred to as covert bullying,is often harder to recognize and can be carried out behind the bullied persons back. It is designed to harm someones social reputation and/or cause humiliation.Did you know that social bullying includes lying and spreading false rumours?Well it is,it also includes mimicking unkindly,playing nasty jokes to embarrass and humiliate,and damaging someone's social reputation.
-Cyber bullying
Cyber bullying can happen anytime.It can be in public or in private and sometimes only known to the target and the person bullying.It can also include:
•Abusive or hurtful texts emails or posts
•Deliberately excluding others online
•Imitating others online or using their
log-in
Bullying can be happen in person or online via various digital platforms and devices and it can be obvious.
